Job Description

We are seeking to recruit a Marketing & Business Development Assistant to provide direct support to the Marketing and Business Development Manager, both working remotely and at our Bristol office.

You might be an ambitious graduate or a junior marketing executive working in an agency setting or in-house marketing role. The successful candidate will be organised and reliable, with excellent attention to detail and be confident in multi-tasking and prioritising workload. As part of a small marketing team, you will be hands-on and willing to pitch in, taking on every challenge as we embark on an ambitious marketing strategy.


Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Social Media: Creating and scheduling social media posts using Hootsuite, in line with the social media strategy, and assisting with analytics, data capture and reporting.
  • Events: Helping to organise GL events and providing on the day support for online and in-person events.
  • Marketing Content: Drafting marketing copy for the website, social media, press releases, proposal documents, legal directories, awards submissions, and general marketing collateral.
  • CRM: Assisting with the management and administration of the firm’s CRM database and mailing lists. Using e-marketing platforms to deliver regular e-comms.
  • Research & Training: Assist with compiling marketing reports, research projects and business development initiatives. Working with the team to develop internal training sessions to instil best practice across the firm across a range of marketing and business development activity. Attending training to develop own skills.


What we are looking for:

  • Excellent organisation and project management skills
  • A proactive and positive can-do attitude with the ability to work independently at times
  • Ability to manage own workload, multitask and prioritise
  • Confident communication skills
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (particularly Word, Excel and Powerpoint)
  • Working knowledge of social media platforms and post scheduling tools
  • Experience of creating graphics using tools such as Canva would be beneficial


What we offer:

Hours: 37.5 hour working week, Monday to Friday (full time)

Contract: 12 month fixed term contract

Salary: Dependent on experience

Pension: 4% pension contribution

Pay: Monthly

Holiday: 25 days per annum
