The Department
Our Agriculture & Estates Team understands farming from a personal and professional perspective, taking into account that farming is more than a business, but often a whole generational way of life. The Agriculture & Estates Team offers a wide range of advice including:

The Role
This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious Property Lawyer from newly qualified to Senior Level to handle a mixture of agricultural conveyancing matters.  The candidate must have previous Real Estate experience ideally within the agricultural sector. You should have a genuine interest in agricultural matters.  

The position is ideally full-time and will be based in our Chelmsford office but may require some travel to the Colchester office. Applications will be considered on a part time basis for the right candidate but ideally you will be able to work a minimum of 3 days. There will also be the opportunity to work from home, if desired, in line with the Firm’s flexible working guidelines.

This role is an excellent opportunity for progression and the candidate will need to be able to work with minimal supervision. 

The role will involve marketing and business development and therefore the ideal candidate must be flexible enough to work outside normal office hours when required and preferably have their own vehicle as well as a clean driving licence.


The Candidate
The ideal candidate will have a desire to progress their career within the agricultural sector. You will have experience in running a case load appropriate to your level of experience. You will assist with commercial real estate areas such as Promotion Agreements, Overages, Collaboration Agreements and Environmental law as well as agricultural law dealing with Easements, Licences and Tenancy Agreements as required. 

The role will include marketing and business development and therefore you will be self-motivated, confident and have an outgoing personality as well as possessing excellent communication skills. You will ideally have an existing client base but be seeking to develop your offering of Environmental / Development work to Clients within the South Essex Area.

You will be key in the future development of the team and this is an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to springboard their legal career.
