We are seeking a motivated Graduate Legal Assistant/Trainee Solicitor to join our specialist Inheritance and Trusts Disputes team for a 2-year fixed term where you will receive partial funding towards the cost of your SQE exams or PSC courses. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong interest in contentious private client work to develop expertise in a growing and challenging area of law.
You will work closely with experienced litigators on a wide range of inheritance and trust-related disputes, including: claims under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975, Will validity challenges (capacity, undue influence, lack of knowledge and approval), trust disputes and trustee applications, contentious probate and estate administration disputes.
The key responsibilities of the role will include (but not limited to):
· Assisting in managing and providing support on a variety of IHTD cases
· Conducting legal research, drafting correspondence and pleadings, liaising with clients and counsel
· Assisting with meditations and court proceedings
· Preparing witness statements
· Helping prepare bundles, attending client meetings, and assisting in the management of case files
· Providing general administrative support and assistance to case handlers.
What we’re looking for:
· Previous experience in contentious probate or litigation is advantageous, but not essential — full training will be provided
· Strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a willingness to learn
· A team player who thrives in a collaborative environment
· The ability to work diligently at a highly professional level
· Commitment to team goals and personal development
· LPC graduate or enrollment on a relevant SQE course - this role meets the requirements for Qualifying Work Experience (QWE).
