We are looking for a dedicated Graduate Legal Assistant/Trainee Solicitor to join our busy and specialist Injury Services team for a 2-year fixed term where you will receive partial funding towards the cost of your SQE exams or PSC courses.
In this exciting and varied role, you will work with experienced Solicitors gaining hands-on experience in claimant/defendant clinical negligence matters. The successful candidate will assist with a varied caseload involving claims against healthcare providers, including hospitals, GPs, private practitioners, and NHS Trusts.
Whether LPC or SQE qualification route, this role will involve remaining in one specialist team for the duration of the fixed term.
The key responsibilities of the role will include (but not limited to):
· Assisting case handlers with clinical negligence claims from initial instruction through to resolution
· Drafting legal documents including Letters of Claim, Particulars of Claim, witness statements, and schedules of loss
· Conducting legal research on case law, procedural rules, and medical issues
· Reviewing and summarising medical records
· Liaising with clients, medical experts, counsel, and third parties
· Preparing court bundles and trial documentation
· Attending client meetings, conferences with counsel, and court hearings where appropriate
· Supporting settlement negotiations and ADR processes
· Ensuring compliance with the Civil Procedure Rules and firm risk management procedures
· Providing general administrative support and assistance to case handlers.
What we are looking for:
· Previous experience in medical negligence or personal injury is advantageous, but not essential — full training will be provided
· Strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a willingness to learn
· A team player who thrives in a collaborative environment
· The ability to work diligently at a highly professional level
· Commitment to team goals and personal development
· LPC graduate or enrolment on a relevant SQE course prior to commencement date of July 2026 . This role meets the requirements for Qualifying Work Experience (QWE).
