Commercial Property Senior Lawyer (Development work)

Are you a Property Lawyer with a focus on development work looking to join a close knit team and ready to take your next step?  Expanding our current team of 12 Commercial Property lawyers,  we have an opportunity for a senior experienced lawyer to strengthen the team, bringing specialist knowledge and technical skills to the department and playing an active role in its future whilst managing a high quality specialist caseload.

The Role

This is one of two vacancies in our Commercial Property team at our Clifton Moor office - working alongside our Head of Property, Stephen Proctor, focussing on Development work.  Stephen deals with all manners of transactions including agricultural, development, retail, secured landing, minerals, high complexity residential transactions, to name but a few. Having headed up the firm’s Commercial Property team for several years, he inaugurated the firm’s Agricultural Property team. Latterly, having handed over leadership of those teams, he assumed an overarching role as the firm’s Head of Property. He is also focussing on the firm’s property development offering (which is part of CP) while continuing to work across all disciplines where needed. 

A more senior position, the role  will involve standalone fee earning and also assisting with supervision and mentoring our junior colleagues.  Acting for  SME builders and landowners and also advising on infrastructure projects such as renewables, this is more likely to be a role which is attractive to someone with an established PQE  in this practice area. We have no pre-conceptions as to the criteria that an ideal candidate would meet; we are open minded, flexible and appreciative of the fact that this is a specialist practice area. With this in mind, our approach is to be realistic and just as much emphasis will be placed on the ambition of a candidate’s desire to learn and progress, in what is a supportive and collaborative environment.
